Who is responsible for your information
Mark Barclay, an independent consultant trading as The Captain's Playbook, is responsible for personal information received through this website. The business is a sole trader, not an incorporated company.
The country of establishment and correspondence address are still to be confirmed, as are the exact data-processing details; these will be added before public launch.
Privacy questions and requests can be sent through the Contact page (/contact) by choosing the topic "Privacy request".
Discovery-call bookings and contact messages
When you book a discovery call (/book-a-call), the website stores your name, email address, optional company website, the reason for the call, your chosen time and your selected time zone, so that Mark Barclay can prepare for and hold the call. You can reschedule or cancel using the private link shown after booking.
When you use the Contact page (/contact), the website stores your name, email address, chosen topic and message so that Mark Barclay can reply.
To prevent spam and abuse, the website briefly records a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your network address when you submit a form, and limits how many submissions can be made in an hour. The exact retention period for these records is still to be confirmed.
Automatic confirmation emails are not currently sent. If they are added, this notice will be updated.
Information you might provide
When you book a call, send a message or later email, you may share your name, email address, job title, organisation, and anything you choose to write about your operational challenges. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information or confidential incident details in a first enquiry.
Why it is used
Enquiry information is used to reply to you, arrange a discovery call if you request one, and discuss whether The Captain's Playbook could suit your organisation.
Lawful basis [requires confirmation]
The lawful basis for handling enquiry information — for example, legitimate interests or steps taken at your request before a contract — has not yet been confirmed and will be reviewed with the applicable jurisdiction.
Service providers [to verify]
The website is hosted on third-party infrastructure, uses a third-party font service, and stores bookings and contact messages in a database provided as part of the website's hosting platform (Lovable Cloud). These providers may process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs. Exact providers, their locations and any international transfers are still to be verified. No third-party booking service, external calendar or email-sending service is connected at present; if one is added, this notice will be updated.
How long it is kept [to confirm]
A retention period for bookings, contact messages and enquiry correspondence has not yet been set and will be confirmed.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal information, to object to its use, and to complain to a data-protection authority. To make a request, use the Contact page (/contact) and choose "Privacy request".
